About Piya
Piya Sinha-Roy is a print and multimedia journalist based in Los Angeles, California, reporting on news, entertainment, fashion, politics and features. She is a recent MA Journalism graduate from the prestigious Annenberg School of Communication and Journalism at the University of Southern California.
Piya is currently one of USC’s Carnegie-Knight Foundation News21 fellows, reporting on the relationship between money, politics and Hollywood.
With hungry curiosity, Piya has covered stories in a wide range of topics, and has interviewed numerous celebrities and influential figures. Her articles have appeared in LA Weekly, The Guardian, InStyle.co.uk, KCET.org, NeonTommy and MovieScope Magazine.
Piya was born in New York City and raised in Surrey, England. She attended the prestigious University of Warwick and graduated with a BA (Hons) in English Literature. Piya has numerous publications and outlets spanning print, broadcast and online, including The Guardian newspaper, InStyle Magazine (UK), BBC (LA) and USC’s NeonTommy.com. Most recently in 2010 and 2011, she covered the Hollywood entertainment scene extensively, reporting from film premieres, junkets, red carpets and the Academy Awards in Hollywood.
